On your SHIELD, hold the NVIDIA button for 3 seconds. The green LED on top of the SHIELD will flash to indicate that it is in connecting mode.
Press the select button on your SHIELD remote and the Voice search button will flash to indicate that it is in connecting mode.
The SHIELD remote is connected when the Voice search button stops flashing and shuts off.
If your SHIELD remote does not connect to SHIELD successfully, follow these troubleshooting steps.
NOTE If you connect the remote to another SHIELD device, the connection is forgotten. Follow the steps in this procedure to establish the connection again.
On your SHIELD, long-hold the NVIDIA button for 3 seconds. Or, on the SHIELD Home screen, open SHIELD accessories and select Connect an accessory. The LED on the top of your SHIELD will flash to indicate that it is in connecting mode.
Verify that the battery in your remote is charged and press the Select button to turn it on. The Voice search button will flash to indicate that it is in connecting mode.
Hold Back and Home together for 3 seconds.
The SHIELD remote is connected when the Voice search button stops flashing and shuts off.
Once connected, the name and battery level of your remote will appear in the SHIELD accessories list.
To disconnect the remote from the SHIELD device, from the SHIELD Home screen go to SHIELD accessories and select "Forget all accessories" > "OK."
NOTE When the remote is connected to a SHIELD, it will go into sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity. Press the Select button on the remote to turn it back on.
